Dependent child visa

Whereas a dependent child visa is a temporary visa that is available to children or step-children of temporary partner visa holders. A dependent child visa holder then transitions onto a permanent partner visa at the same time as their parent.

Parent Visa

The parent visa lets a parent of a permanent resident or citizenship holder move to the country where their child resides. The parent visa holder can work, study, access Medicare, travel and eventually consider application for citizenship. The Parent visa is differentiated in two main categories, temporary and permanent.

Temporary (Sponsored Parent Visa)

The Sponsored parent visa is a temporary visa which allows a parent of a country’s citizen or permanent resident for up to three or five years. The years of stay varies from country to country. This visa allows parents to remain in the country for a longer period of time, up to five years (differs from country to country) at a time without departing. It provides an alternative option to Visitor visas which only allow shorter periods of stay.

Permanent (Parent Visa)

The Sponsored parent visa is a temporary visa which allows a parent of a country’s citizen or permanent resident to be sponsored for permanent residence of that country.
